Murals and Trompe L'Oeil

Caribbean Mural

This mural was painted for a private client in a hot tub room.  The clients wanted lots of personal touches and humour to remind them of their Caribbean holidays.  The ceiling was painted so that from the hot tub you are seated in a Caribbean hut with a 360° view.

As the clients sit in their hot tub and look up to the ceiling a cheeky baby monkey looks down on them through the broken thatched roof.  The second photo below shows the progress of the painted ceiling.  The third photo below shows Lorna, a very talented art student, who helped me during this commission.  We were initially working off scaffolding over the hot tub.
