Murals and Trompe L'OeilShip Deck MuralThis ship deck and sea view mural was painted in a bedroom in Essex, near to the river the Blackwater. A Thames Sailing Barge has been painted sailing past. A trompe l'oeil cloth and bucket are painted on the wood-grained sides of the boat to give a sense of work on deck and add to the illusion, this creates such a sense of space and tranquillity in this bedroom mural.

This is a mural in progress picture. This bedroom mural in Essex was painted to create a true trompe l'oeil effect as the ship's deck is painted reach out to sea. The whole room was painted including the sky ceiling with a few gentle clouds. The wood graining on the deck matched the bedroom flooring (covered in this picture). A real ships wheel was attached to the wall after completion to add to the depth and illusion of this ship deck and sea view mural.
