Murals and Trompe L'Oeil

SWANS Centre Murals.

This mural was one of the most enjoyable commissions for the artist. The whole room mural, including tented ceiling and trompe l'oeil curtains was sponsored by Barclays Bank in Essex. This mural was painted for SWANS based in Maldon, Essex. This therapy room has many functions, including massage and aromatherapy for the disabled adults who are members of this fantastic charitable organisation. After discussion with the clients, it was decided to create a trompe l'oeil Bedouin tent and desert oasis mural. We used a little artistic license with the mixture of animals, and pyramids etc, but the effect is totally amazing. The sponsorship money from Barclays Bank also funded the fantastic curtains and pelmet made by Wenlock's of Maldon. The artist then added her own touch of illusion in the mural. painting a trompe l'oeil tented ceiling and curtains.
